Day 4 in Ghana, Africa – Pencils of Promise E-Reader and WASH Program SPI TV, Ep. 22

On the final day of our trip to Ghana, we visit two schools that are experimenting with an e-Reader program, and the WASH program, which teaches hygiene and healthy hand washing habits. It was amazing to see what Pencils of Promise is doing beyond the schools that were built, and it made me think of what else I could to help besides just raising money for campaigns. Check out what else I have planned, and thank you again for watching SPI TV and coming along with me on this life-changing trip.

Here is more information about why we were in Ghana:

In December of 2014, I ran a campaign to build a school in Ghana, Africa through the Pencils of Promise organization. This was an idea that was inspired through my conversation with Adam Bruan, the founder of PoP, who I interviewed in Session #106 of the SPI Podcast:

Not only did the SPI community come together with a record-breaking number of donors during this campaign, but my family and I agreed to match up to $25,000 to build one additional school beyond what was already funded.

Together, over $50,000 was raised, and I received notice earlier this year that me and one guest would be able to visit Ghana and see the schools that we built, meet the people in these communities and see first hand exactly what kind of impact we were making.

Thanks to my trusty videographer, Caleb Wojcik, who came along with me to capture these moments for you, we were able to put together a series of 4 videos (1 for each day of the trip), that highlight the sights, sounds and feelings I experienced while on this journey.

A big thank you goes out to everyone who donated to this campaign last year, and for all of the fans of SPI and people who have supported me in the past, thank you for letting me lead this journey for all of us, and I’m hoping these videos give you a taste of how I felt and how important this is to me.

Giving is great, and I hope to always be an example of that. To my audience, to my kids especially, and hopefully to the world.

Additionally, I’m proud to have recently been added to the Advisory Board of Pencils of Promise, to be able to help out even more. For more information about Pencils of Promise, please click the link below:
