C’mon over to https://www.marieforleo.com/blog/made-a-mistake where the main discussion happens after the episode!
Made a mistake and said something stupid that you now regret? We’ve all been there. In this video, you’ll learn how to apologize when you’ve made a mistake, and how you can avoid goofing up in the first place.
The first step is training yourself to not respond for 24 hours to people or situations that frustrate or upset you. If you cool off first, then you won’t have made a mistake and said something you’ll regret later.
But if you’ve already made a mistake and something popped out of your mouth that makes you feel crazy or insecure, an apology is always appropriate.
Here are two scripts you can follow if you think you’ve made a mistake or a bad impression in a stressful situation:
1. “Hey, I’m feeling self-conscious about something I said yesterday, and I think I came across like an insecure crazy person. What I really meant to say was….blank.”
2. “Please disregard that little outburst, I was under a lot of stress and talking out of my you-know-what.”
